Shopping in Javea

Shopping in Javea

Whether you’re food shopping, clothes shopping or mooching around markets, Javea has almost everything you need. In a rare chance you can’t find what you’re looking for, its a short journey to the nearest shopping centre.

I’ve written about everything you need to know about shopping in Javea, and covered all three types of shopping below. Click the links to jump to relevant sections:

Supermarkets in Javea

There are many supermarkets and smaller ‘express’ convenience shops scattered throughout the Old Town, Port and Arenal.

Find a map of all the supermarkets marked in Javea below:

The main supermarkets in Javea are Masymas and Mercadona and are brilliant choices for all your shopping needs. They have everything you need, and most come equipped with a fresh meat and fish counter as well as extremely fresh fruit and veg. Both chains are scattered throughout the Javea area in all locations. They come in various sizes – the largest Masymas is in the Arenal, and the largest Mercadona is on the Carretera Cap de la Nau Pla.

There is a Lidl and an Aldi in Javea, both are large supermarkets. Lidl is located in Carrer de Jorge Luis Borges, next to the McDonalds. An Aldi is located nearby, a little further down the road on the Carretera Cabo la Nao.

Supercor is a large Spanish supermarket chain – it is more expensive than the above options. However, a treat to visit for very fresh food and produce. It’s also located on Cabo de la Nao, on the roundabout opposite Overseas. They have a fantastic cheese counter too, if you plan on buying a showstopping platter for family and friends.

If you’re missing your classic British food favourites, Overseas has you covered. They import food from Iceland and Waitrose and stock it for you. A large amount of this is frozen food and shelf food – there is less fresh food here, so do keep this in mind.

Puga is also located on Ctra. del Cap de la Nau Pla, near the big Mercadona. It’s best for buying food wholesale, as they are a cash-and-carry supermarket. You’ll find everything you need from meat, spirits, utensils, soft drinks, and many other items

Shopping centres in the Javea area

The closest shopping centre to Javea is Portal de La Marina, located in Ondara, about a 15-minute drive away and located right by the E15 between Jávea and Denia.

La Marina is the main shopping centre outside Javea, with 40.000 square metres with an impressive range of shops with everything you need. There are also lots of restaurants, and even a cinema (although no English movies, there is a English cinema in Javea though!) and a gym if you’re looking to make a day out of visiting.

La Marina has parking facilities outside and underground, and is entirely free.

Clothing brands

La Marina contains big clothing brands such as Zara, Stradivarious, H&M, Pull & Bear, and Lefties which are brilliant options if you’re hunting for outfits. There are many more including United Colors of Benetton, Massimo Dutti, Levis. To see a list of all the clothes shops, visit the official site.

Most of the clothing shops are based on the second floor, with Lefties based on the ground floor.

Sports brands

You’ll find plenty of sports brands including Decathlon (located on the outside of the centre) Base, Decimas, and more specialist brands such as Surf or Die inside.

Beauty brands

Favourites including Rituals, Kiko and Druni are available on both floors.

Food shops

There are food shops available if you need to do a spot of shopping. On the outside is a large Aldi. On the inside, you’ll find a large Carrefour.
