Jávea Weather in January
The average temperature in Jávea in January is around 12°C, with cool nights and pleasant days. January is not a good month for swimming in the sea or the pool, or other water activities as it’s very cold still. January tends to see a lot of rainfall and sometimes a gota fria (a term used in Spain for torrential rain) so make sure to factor this in before your visit.
January will usually be a very quiet month as tourists tend to visit later on in the warmer months.
However, it’s a good month for exploring the local area, visiting restaurants and cafes, or even hiking up the Montgo mountain!
Jávea Weather in February
February temperatures in Jávea average around 15°C, with occasional rain and cooler temperatures in the evenings. In terms of activities to do, February is very similar to January as it’s still quite a cold month with frequent spells of rain.
Jávea’s golf courses are best visited during the late winter months when the pleasant weather is perfect for extended rounds of golf.
Jávea Weather in March
The weather in Jávea in March starts to warm up, with average temperatures of around 17°C. This is a great time to explore the local area, but not yet warm enough for swimming. However, this temperature is perfect for playing tennis in Jávea’s tennis clubs, which we’ve written a guide about.
Although the weather improves in March, there are the occasional rainy days. If you’re looking for a camping experience, March is a good month as it’s not too cold yet not too hot – we’ve written a guide about camping in Jávea if you want to know more.
Jávea Weather in April
In April, temperatures in Jávea average around 19°C, with warm and sunny days. April usually sees the weather warm up which sometimes allows for swimming! But usually, the month can be rather rainy, and even see a gota fria (a term used in Spain for torrential rain).
Make sure to look ahead at the weather before you plan a visit to Jávea to avoid any rainstorms.
April can be a busy time to visit, as the Easter holidays start for the local schools and internationally – with more tourists inbound during the time off. Although April is nowhere near as busy as the summer months, look ahead at the planned Easter break schedules to coordinate your trip accordingly.
Jávea Weather in May
The average temperature in Jávea in May is around 22°C, making it a great time to enjoy the beaches and start swimming. Tourist season hasn’t fully started yet, so May is a great month to enjoy the increasingly hotter weather without the crowds. Visit the local Jávea markets during this time before the tourists visit town!
Jávea Weather in June
June to September are the hottest months in Jávea, with temperatures averaging around 25°C to 30°C.
Jávea will get much busier from June onwards as the summer season starts and tourists begin to flock to the area to enjoy the seaside and the local Jávea festivities.
As the tourist season fully begins, more of Jávea begins to open up – including the fabulous water parks near Javea such as Aqualandia and Aqua Natura. Plan ahead if you’re travelling to Jávea, as mid-June is the month when local schools plan school-wide trips which will see the parks become extremely busy.
As tourists begin to visit the area, places such as the Arenal beach will get very busy in the daytime, and especially in the evenings – nightlife in Javea starts getting better around June as the summer months start.
Jávea Weather in July
The average temperature in Jávea in July is around 28°C, with hot and sunny days perfect for sunbathing and water sports such as jetskiing, or renting a boat in Javea. This is the month where the weather really heats up, and can occasionally soar to temperatures of 35°C+. Wherever you go, make sure you’re protected from the sun and bring plenty of water.
Occasionally in July, Jávea sees heatwaves which can also summon somewhat odd, cloudy weather and sometimes storms.
Jávea Weather in August
August tends to be one of the hottest months in Jávea. August temperatures in Jávea average around 30°C, making it one of the hottest months of the year.
August in Jávea is usually prime tourist season, with plenty of buzz and energy around the town. If you’re going out in the afternoon, be sure to plan with around the hot weather. For instance, hiking up the Montgo mountain is not a good idea in the scorching 2pm heat – save those activities for the early morning or evening!
Always stay hydrated and apply sun cream every couple of hours to avoid getting burnt.
Jávea Weather in September
The average temperature in Jávea in September is around 27°C, making it still quite hot and a good time to visit for a late summer holiday. The middle of September sees Jávea become a little quieter, as the school season starts once again locally as well as for the usual summer tourists.
Mid-September is the final month for visiting the water parks in Jávea. It’s usually a very quiet month in terms of visitors as holidaymakers have left, so we fully recommend taking advantage – you’ll almost have the whole park to yourself!
Jávea Weather in October
October temperatures in Jávea average around 25°C. October is usually the end of the hot weather and sees Jávea enter the colder Autumn/Winter seasons (later than other countries!). Jávea will be much quieter as tourists return and school is back in full swing.
October is still a good month for swimming and probably the last month to do so comfortably. Alternatively, you can explore the gyms in Jávea through our guide if swimming is just too cold for you!

Jávea Weather in December
December temperatures in Jávea average around 16°C, with cooler temperatures and occasional rain. December is not the ideal month for swimming, but it’s a great time to enjoy the local festivities and Christmas markets.
Some years, we found that Christmas was a hot sunny day (and t-shirt weather) which is always a lovely occurrence!
