Javea’s Michelin Star and Michelin Guide Restaurants

Javea is home to various Michelin-star restaurants and Michelin Guide restaurants, offering the very best traditional Spanish dishes and some with blends of more innovative culinary trends.

Ie’ve written up a guide giving overviews of Michelin-guide and Michelin-star restaurants in Javea and the surrounding area as of 2024 – I will keep the list updated as new restaurants are awarded a place on the Michelin guide or earn a Michelin star.

For other food guides, I’ve created a list of my personally recommended best restaurants in Javea, as well as vegan restaurants in Javea for those who want delicious plant-based cuisine.

Javea’s Michelin-Star restaurants:

  • BonAmb (2 Michelin Stars)
  • Tula (1 Michelin Star)

Javea’s Michelin Guide restaurants:

  • Tosca
  • La Perla de Jávea
  • Volta i Volta

BonAmb (2 Michelin Stars)

BonAmb is a renowned Michelin-starred restaurant located in Jávea. The restaurant occupies a restored country house, with a terrace offering one of the best landscapes of the Montgo mountain to be seen in Javea. The decor was designed to provide a comfortable and intimate setting for guests to fully immerse in their dining experience.

With every new season, guests can experience creative tasting menus that allow guests to sample a variety of meticulously crafted dishes by Alberto Ferruz and Pablo Catala. They are known for their innovative and creative approach to cuisine, which has earned BonAmb two Michelin stars and two Repsol suns.

Tula (1 Michelin Star)

Tula is a contemporary Spanish restaurant, founded by acclaimed chef Borja Susilla, which highlights the flavours of the Valencian region with fresh seasonal ingredients and artful presentations. After opening in 2018, Tula earned its first Michelin star in 2019, becoming a key landmark for fine regional cuisine in the region.

The tasting menu showcases Susilla’s creativity through dishes like briny Galician oysters topped with ponzu and Kalix caviar, charcoal-grilled lobster bathing in velvety lemon emulsion, and the iconic Spanish paella inflated with game and decadent black truffles.

Tosca (Michelin Guide)

Tosca restaurant specialises in French-Belgian-inspired Mediterranean cuisine. Tosca can be found near the Arenal beach, with a fabulous terrace overlooking Jávea Bay and Cap Prim.

In 2019, Ferrán Ayora and Julien Buyle took over Tosca with their new vision, creating a seasonal menu made entirely with fresh products from small local producers. They specialise in authentic Mediterranean fish and meat dishes, preserving its traditional flavours yet adding their own fusion twist.

This is paired with a selection of over 100 wines to choose from, with advice from their in-house sommelier. Tosca has sourced all their wines across the region and internationally, to ensure guests have the perfect complement to their meal.

Volta i Volta (Michelin Guide)

Volta i Volta is a quaint, local restaurant that specialises in contemporary Mediterranean fusion cuisine, heavily influenced by the team’s experience working in a range of culinary cultures including Italy, France, Japan and many more. Volta i Volta is tucked away in the heart of Javea Old Town, nearby the Javea markets and the central church.

Volta i Volta’s cuisine uses a foundation of fresh seasonal meat, fish, vegetables, and rice, all locally sourced. From there, they build complex and imaginative Mediterranean dishes, based on traditional recipes with an injection of their own personalities to invent truly unique tastes and experiences. Their food was meant to be paired with their wine list, which exclusively highlights local wines from Valencia and the Jalon Valley.

Volta i Volta was awarded a place on the Michelin guide, recognising their commitment to culinary excellence and providing a world-class experience for guests. I highly recommend visiting during your visit to Javea.

La Perla de Jávea (Michellin Guide)

Since first opening its terraces in 1984, overlooking the golden sands of Arenal beach and the majestic Montgo mountain, La Perla de Jávea has been regarded as a culinary treasure along Spain’s Costa Blanca. For nearly 40 years, the restaurant has welcomed guests to enjoy creative rice dishes, fresh local seafood, and grilled meats paired with the most views of Jávea.

La Perla’s menu highlights regional specialities like fideuas, meloso rice, and paella with the freshest local ingredients. Fish comes straight from the nearby Jávea port, meats are carefully selected from local farms, and rice is sourced from the best growers in Spain. This commitment to quality has earned La Perla a Repsol Sol in 2023 and recognition in the Michelin Guide in 2023 and is well worth a visit on your next visit to Jávea.

Even after almost four decades, La Perla de Jávea continues to be a local favourite.
