I’ve put together this guide covering the best golf courses in and around Javea, so you can plan your golfing holiday with confidence. You’ll find everything from technical championship courses to stunning resort layouts with Mediterranean views.

We’ve also added golf courses near Javea to give you even more options to choose from.

Club de Golf Jávea

Club de Golf Jávea is Javea’s local course, and it’s a real treat for golfers who want something manageable but still engaging. It’s a gently sloping 9-hole course located on Ctra. Javea-Benitachell, but here’s the clever bit – many holes can be played from different tees, so it can work as an 18-hole round if you fancy a longer session.

The course features rolling fairways and well-protected greens, with fantastic views of the Montgo mountain that you’ll see throughout your round. It’s popular with both locals and visitors, and I can see why – it’s got that relaxed Spanish golf atmosphere without being too demanding.

If you want to warm up or just fancy some practice, their driving range has beautiful mountainous views that make even practice sessions enjoyable. The course hosts competitions that are open to non-members with a current Federation Handicap, so check their competition calendar if you’re interested in some friendly competition during your visit. Club de Golf Javea also hosts competitions which are open to non-members who possess a current Federation Handicap, keep updated on their competition calendar if you’re keen to participate.

The clubhouse includes a full-service pro shop with all the latest gear and apparel you might need.

La Sella Golf Resort

La Sella Golf Resort is one of Spain’s top golfing destinations, located just outside Javea near Denia. It’s a 27-hole course set in the valley of the Montgó Natural Park, designed by Spanish golfing champion José María Olazábal.

The course consists of three 9-hole loops – Marina, Montgó, and Llebeig – which you can play in any combination. This gives you flexibility in your round and means you can experience different challenges depending on which loops you choose.

What makes La Sella special is the stunning setting. You’ll be playing with views of the Montgó Natural Park and surrounding mountains throughout your round. The course is recognised globally and hosts major competitions, including the La Sella Open, one of Europe’s largest women’s golf tournaments.

The La Sella Golf resort is recognised globally, hosting major competitions such as the La Sella Open, one of the largest women golf tournaments in Europe.

The clubhouse is impressive too, with a pro shop and their restaurant Hoyo 19 that overlooks the course. If you’re making this a proper golf holiday, La Sella is also a luxury hotel resort with spa facilities, swimming pools, and various sports courts.

This is definitely a must-visit if you’re serious about your golf and want a world-class experience during your stay in the Javea area.

Ifach Golf Club

If you’re willing to make the trip to Calpe (about 30 minutes from Javea), Ifach Golf Club is worth the drive. This 18-hole course was designed by renowned architect Pepe Gancedo, and it’s a proper test of your golfing skills.

What makes Ifach unique is how it incorporates the natural surroundings into the course design. You’ll be playing around rocky outcroppings, pine trees, and Mediterranean vegetation – it feels like the course was carved out of the natural terrain rather than imposed on it.

The views are stunning too. You’ll get glimpses of the Mediterranean Sea throughout your round, plus views of the famous Penón de Ifach, that massive rock formation that dominates the Calpe skyline.

Villaitana Golf Resort Benidorm

Located near Benidorm (about 30 minutes from Javea), Villaitana Golf Resort is another top-tier option that’s worth the trip. The resort features two 18-hole courses – the Levante and the Poniente – designed by golf legends Jack Nicklaus and José María Olazábal.

You can stay at the Melia Villaitana 5-star hotel for a truly fantastic golfing holiday and have plenty of time to try the two golf courses during your stay, or visit Benidorm, one of our recommended locations for the best day trips from Javea.

Levante Course

The Levante course is the Championship course – an American-style par 72 stretching over 6,600 metres. It offers a challenging but enjoyable layout with wonderful views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Sierra de Finestrat. I’d recommend booking an early tee time to catch the sunrise over the Mediterranean – it’s quite something!

The Poniente course is the Executive course – a par 70 measuring 6,300 metres. It’s known for its stunning Mediterranean views but is considered more technically challenging, so newer golfers might want to tackle the Levante first.

Villaitana hosts major tournaments including the Senior Golf Tour Europe, which is open to both members and non-members. If you’re looking for competitive play during your holiday, this could be perfect.

You can stay at the 5-star Melia Villaitana hotel right on the resort, which gives you easy access to both courses. Plus, if you’re travelling with family, there are water parks within 5 minutes and Benidorm just 10 minutes away, so everyone stays entertained.

Planning your golf trip

The Javea area really does offer some magnificent golf courses. From the relaxed atmosphere of Club de Golf Javea to the championship challenges of La Sella and Villaitana, you’ve got plenty of variety to keep your golf trip interesting.

My advice? Check the weather in Javea before your visit to make sure you pack appropriately, and consider booking tee times in advance during peak season. If you’re making this a longer holiday, you could easily spend a week working your way through these courses – each offers something different and memorable.

If golf isn’t your only interest, the area also has excellent tennis clubs and fitness facilities, plus you’ll be perfectly positioned to experience all the other attractions the Costa Blanca has to offer.
