Are there any gyms in Javea? If you are planning to visit Javea or are already living there, you may be interested in keeping fit and active.
Javea has several excellent gyms that cater to different needs and preferences. In this guide, I’ve created a list of some of the best gyms in Javea, highlighting their features and facilities.

Gyms in Javea Old Town
Planeta Fitness Javea
Planeta Fitness is located in the Javea Old Town, near the Javea football pitch and not too far from the Javea camping site. For those who are looking for a smaller but inclusive and friendly gym with a mix of weighted gym equipment and free weights, this may be the best Javea gym for you. Planeta Fitness accommodates well for a range of fitness needs, from gym beginners, all the way to bodybuilders.
Planeta Fitness Equipment
Planeta Fitness has weighted gym equipment in one large room as you walk in, containing most of their weighted gym equipment, free weights, and some cardio machines. There’s also another smaller room at the back with mats, mirrors and barbells, as well as an open studio room for classes.
In terms of the equipment, Planeta Fitness has all the main equipment you would need for a fulfilling workout, including:
- Benches
- Machines
- Squat racks
- Leg press machines
- Cable crossover machines
- Lat pulldown machines
- Dumbbell rack
Planeta Fitness has a range of cardio machines, from treadmills, to spinning bikes and ellipticals. However, they don’t offer the variety that you might find in a larger commercial gym.
If you’re curious about their fitness classes, Planeta offers a range of sessions throughout the weekdays including Spinning, Zumba, Pump Functional and Boxing classes. You can check at their reception to see the seasonal class timetable.

Plaza Fitness Javea
Plaza Fitness is located in the Old Town of Javea, in Parc de la Reina Sofia close to Mercadona.
Plaza Fitness is a larger gym than Planeta. It is one large room filled with over 25 different fixed-weight machines, as well as free weights.
They hold classes throughout the day, including Combat, Spinning, Pilates, Pump, Cross Training, Stretching & Core Training.
Plaza Fitness Javea offers membership options. There are also day passes or short-term holiday passes available.

Javea Arenal Gyms
Elite Gym Xabia
Elite Gym Xabia is a large gym located in between the Port and Arenal beach, that offers a wide range of specialised fitness machines and weights, as well as classes led by qualified professionals.
For those looking for a gym with a large selection of equipment and fitness classes, Elite Gym Xabia may be the best Javea gym for you to join.

On their Google My Business profile, reviewers praise Elite Gym Xabia for their very friendly staff, large range of equipment, and great selection of fitness classes.

Club Fit
Club Fit Javea is a large gym located between the Arenal and the Old Town of Javea. Club Fit has one of the best opening hours of the other Javea gyms – open from 6am until 12am everyday. This makes it ideal for those gymgoers who prefer a late-night workout or a sunrise session.
Within Club Fit gym, you can find a grand array of weight machines and free weights, a space for calisthenics and boxing. Their cardio theatre gives gymgoers plenty of cardio options to choose from, containing self-propelled treadmills, ellipticals, rowing machines and spinning bikes.
If you’re interested in fitness classes, Club Fit offer a wide selection of activities, including functional training, BoxFit classes, and pilates.
There are also virtual classes that may be useful for those training in the early or later hours of the day.

Sparta Gym Javea
Sparta Gym is divided into numerous zones, including a strength zone, a cardio zone, a double-cable zone and more to give you every opportunity for a complete workout.
Where Sparta Gym really shines is with its training zone, containing punching bags, speed bags, TRX and more free training materials. If you’re a boxing or fighting enthusiast, Sparta might be the perfect pick for you as its equipped with specialist fighting equipment.
Sparta Gym also advertise their private personal training services for those new to training or need support t in achieving fitness goals.

Bouldering gyms in Javea
Unfortunately, there is still no dedicated bouldering gym in Javea. There is a huge demand for a proper bouldering centre in the area, but as of yet, there isn’t one yet – although there is an alternative!
In May 2024, the Municipal Sports Pavilion located in the Javea port opened up the CEX Mountain School which will offer introductions to climbing for young children and adults. They aim to eventually create a climbing school.
The wall below measures at 8 metres high by 5,5 meters wide.
If you’re looking for something more adventurous (and you’re an experienced rock climber) the Ambolo area has many routes and is the main rockclimbing area in Javea.
