Every September on the Sunday nearest to September the 8th, you can find a local Javea festival which celebrates the Pilgrimage to the Ermita del Pòpul occurs and is held at Ermita del Popul, honouring the Virgen de Loreto.
This annual event entails a journey to the Sanctuary of Ermita del Pòpul, which is located on the Carraterra de Jesus Pobre (the road to Jesus Pobre from Javea) close to the Montgo mountain.
What happens during the Ermita del Pòpul Pilgrimage?
Locals travel from their local towns when a pilgrimage travels to Ermita to celebrate the festival. A picture of the Virgen de Loreto is paraded around the local area. The festival ends with locals distributing sweets, chocolate, and some wine for the congregation.
